Peter enlisted on July 18, 1941 and did his Army training In Grande Prairie. He was then was sent overseas and was stationed in the United Kingdom, France and Northwestern Europe. Peter was discharged in October 1945.
Through the VLA he purchased Section 11-79-26-W5 near Eaglesham which he farmed in the summers. The winters were spent welding on steel construction. Peter was very involved in the community and was instrumental in the start of the 4-H Club in Eaglesham and Tangent.
Peter married Norma Williams in 1968. Norma worked full time so they spent only one month on the farm in 1969. They were hailed out that year so they decided to rent the farm out and eventually sold it and retired to Kelowna, BC.
