Joseph Philippe Leclerc was born in Laconia, New Hampshire, U.S.A. on June 8, 1912. In 1915 the Leclerc family moved to Lac La Biche, Ab. where Philippe grew up. In 1929 the family moved again to Girouxville, Ab.
Philippe married Alice Cryderman in Edmonton in 1941. Philippe worked on the Lassiter project as a welder, and helped build the bridge over the Smoky River at Watino in 1954-1955. They homesteaded on some land at Tangent, AB (79-24-W5) until they retired to Edmonton in 1968.
Philippe was predeceased by Alice in 1969. Philippe passed away on July 2, 1989 and is interred at the Sacre Coeur Catholic Cemetery in Chauvin, Ab.
