Bud Ferguson was the only son of Amos and Georgina (Georgie) Ferguson. He had three sisters: Bess, Virginia and Ruth. The family moved from Saskatchewan to Spirit River AB in March 1929 in hopes of finding better farming conditions in Alberta. Amos rented land for farming until 1943 when he purchased land west of Rycroft. Bud served in WWII. He married Judy, and later they moved to Taylor BC.
