Charles, Jerry, and Mrs. Stojan with the Pathfinder car, 1938. Another scheme was concocted (essentially for publicity purposes and to prove that the route was feasible) to send a car through the Pass to Hansard as quickly as possible, even before the road cutting was complete. The remaining limited supplies and finances of the MPHA were used to support this expedition.
