Administrative history / Biographical sketch

Alonzo Rice was born in Curries Crossing in 1883, but lived in a number of different locales in Western Canada including; Woodstock District, Dereham Township, and eventually Star City, Saskatchewan. Alonzo also had lived in the South Peace Region and owned a plot of land on N.W. 18-71-2-W.6th, approximately 1.6km from the Old Bezanson Town site. Alonzo passed away in 1943 at the age of 60 while visiting his nephew Alfred Dickout in Dereham.

Custodial history

Held by donor until donation to the Galloway Station Museum, Travel Centre and Archives in 2007. Then transferred to the South Peace Regional Archives in 2022.
