Agency History

The Rycroft & District Lions Club was incorporated as a non-profit organization on May 24, 1977. As of 2010, they have proudly served Rycroft & area for 33 years providing a variety of services to the community. They are a member of the Lions Club International, the world’s largest service organization consisting of 1.3 million members in 200 countries.

Custodial History

The records were donated to the South Peace Regional Archives by Barb Deley, Treasurer of the Lion’s Club, in 2009.

Scope and Content

The fonds consists of minutes and activity reports from 2003-2006 and 3 photograph copies of newspaper articles about Lion’s activities, 1980-1982..

Mr. Skaley presents a cheque to C.J. Whelan, Royal Canadian Legion. Back Row: L-R: Jim Lazoruk, president of the Rycroft Lion’s Club, Sharon Sandul of the Royal Purple and John Campbell, Service Officer of the Legion. Each of the three clubs received $509.25 raised in March, 1981, by the five riders who rode from Grande Cache to Rycroft and had received pledges on a per mile basis.
