The series consists mostly of photographs of buildings in Hythe, including the NAR Railway Station, the grain elevators along the railway, businesses and hotels, churches, schools and the hospital. There are also a few photographs of seniors in Hythe. The photographs are described in the order in which they appeared in the scrapbooks. |

In 2005 in celebration of Alberta’s Centennial Margaret Mayer of Penhold and close friend Nicky Ehrler of Calgary travelled Alberta in a 1979 Dodge Falkland. They were selling various items in order to collect money to donate books to 312 seniors organizations. They made a stop in Hythe and there is two photos of their van and one collage photo that they handed out to the groups describing what their goals were.

Hythe Homecoming 1978. — 1978. — 5 pp. — 56 photographs.
The series consists of photographs and newclippings from the Hythe Homecoming. The Homecoming was held in celebration of 50 years since Hythe’s incorporation. The Homecoming was a 3 day affair that took place July 14-16th in 1978. Over 800 people registered and were able to take part in the talent show and enjoy breakfasts, bar-b-ques, church service, a dance as well as attend the Hythe Fair. There also was a cenotaph unveiling by mayor Glenn Guise and former mayors Glyn Davies, Ron Balderson, and Henry Reich. The cenotaph is in honour of the early pioneers to Hythe. The photographs are described in the order in which they appeared in the scrapbooks. |

The series consists of a program, photographs and newsclippings of the Hythe Homecoming. The Homecoming was a three part celebration: 80 yearsanniversary of the first settlers, 20 year anniversary of the Hythe Pioneer Home and 1969 Hythe High School Reunion. The series consists of photographs and papers that were not in an album or scrapbook. The photographs include people and places in Hythe and area. Paper records include: 1921 poster from an auction sale, signatures of 1932 Happy Valley pupils, Hythe Sports Program from 1937, History of Hythe United Church 1980, various newsclippings featuring Hythe or its residents, a list of Hythe students in 1938, sheet music for the maple leaf Forever, a list of Sunday School students from the United Church 1935, 1948 school newspaper, information on the Doherty murder as told by J.D. Gault, an invitation to a Cadet Inspection in Edmonton in 1973, a letter from National Defence Canada giving M.A. Bain the Canadian Forces Service Pin in 1986, a self-guided tour of Hythe and area magazine compiled by Olive Stickney 1992, Village map and tour guide for Hythe 2005 an invitation to the reopening of the Hythe & District Memorial Arena 2005 and the booklet for the 33rd Annual Hythe & District Agricultural Fair in 2008. There is also a 1955 map of Hythe area with residents names listed on their land locations, and a also a Bantam program from Provncials in 1978 listing players for the Hythe team: Gordon Jenner, Burton Moonen, Sam Purves, Chad Staggs, Wade Kyle, Curtis Lindbloom, Barry Wallan, Donnie Schuller, Orval Pierson, Jeff Sanregret, Kevin Wallan, Brent Simpson, Dean Webb, and Scott Smith. |
