Administrative history / Biographical sketch
The Royal Winner School District served the Prestville-Manir area east of Rycroft. The district was formed in 1936 with R.J. Lundy, chairman, and Mrs. Peter Whelan, secretary/treasurer. The school was built on NW ¼ of Section 2, Township 78 Range 4 West of the 6th Meridian, and A.J. Kravetz was the first teacher, followed by G.D. McFarlane, and Mrs. R. Wells.
Custodial history
The records were preserved and given to the Spirit River School Division No. 47 sometime after it was formed in 1940. Peace Wapiti School Division assumed responsibility for this division in 1994 and the records were deposited in the Grande Prairie Regional Archives in 2003. The assessment records were preserved by the M.D. of Spirit River No. 133 and deposited in the archives in 2010.

The fonds consists of a book of minutes from the Board of Directors for Royal Winner School District 4725, a few daily registers, and an Assessment and Tax Roll.

Date: 1936-1940 (date of creation) Scope and content: The series consists of one Moyer’s Assessment and Tax Roll ledger (New Act) for Royal Winner School District 4725 from 1936-1940. Information in the ledger includes the name of each landowner, their post office address, a legal description of the property, assessed value of real property, value of additional personal property or income, tax amounts, payments and arrears. There is also a hand-drawn map of the school district, showing land owners and assessed values of land, in the front of the ledger.
