Administrative history / Biographical sketch

Isabelle’s father, Bill Palmer came to Wembley from Manitoba, in 1928. Over the years he worked as an agent for B.A. Oil, International Harvester, and was manager for the livestock yards and for the dairy. Isabelle’s mother, Gladys Ione Simpson (nee Fisher) came to the country in the early 1930s with her daughter, Ella, to be a housekeeper for Bill Moss. Bill Palmer and Gladys were married shortly after. They had two children: Isabelle (Babs) in 1933, and Billie in 1939. Ella married Herb Gitzel and they had two boys: Preston and Van. Isabelle married Lewis Hulet in 1951. They have four children. Bill Palmer died in 1949 and Gladys died in 1965.

Custodial history

The records were donated to the Grande Prairie Archives by Isabelle Hulet in 2003.

Scope and content

The fonds consists of copies of 20 photographs of a 1937 trip through the Monkman Pass area including Kinuso Falls and the Wembley main street fire, ca. 1950
