According to his 1926 baptismal record, Teodor Koda was born on February 27, 1908 in Gorlice, Krakow, Poland and named Theodous by his Austrian parents, Joannes and Christinna Koda. In 1928, at 20 years of age, Teodor immigrated to Canada and made his home in the Volin area near Rycroft, Alberta. He received his Canadian Certificate of Naturalization in 1937 and applied for the land on the SE 20-79-4-W6 in 1942. A Duplicate Certificate of Title for another acreage, described as Pt W 1/2 of Section 7-79-4-W6 was issued in 1950. He was a member of the Volin Community Association, and secretary-treasurer in 1938, when they were building their community hall. Mr. Koda remained in the Rycroft area after his retirement in 1972.
