Another article from April 28, 1914, this headline read “Prisoner Escapes”. The escape took place from the jail at Lake Saskatoon. In those days, Lake Saskatoon was a thriving community, and was the Headquarters of the RNWMP in the Grande Prairie Division. The prisoner eluded capture, as seen by a further article May 5. On May 12 there was a very small note on page 2 of the paper that only said he was still at large. Ironically, he was in jail for a previous escape!
