The five team Twilight baseball League kicked off its fourth month season on Saturday May 16, 1914 with a game between Deep Creek and Beaverlodge. The report in the May 19 newspaper noted that wind and chilly weather prevented “feats of classy or snappy” ball. Interesting to note that the teams didn’t seem to have names. Earlier, the Annual League meeting had set out residency requirements. Players were eligible to play in the Twilight League only if they resided in the Grande prairie district – an area specifically defined by the delegates.
