When I ran across this page, I was surprised at how early the date was – 1930. It wasn’t uncommon even back then for a newly constructed building to be featured, with the contractors and suppliers having ads along with the article. But I did find it unusual for this to be done with a personal residence. Mr. Graban was the Manager of the Marshall Wells Store in Grande Prairie, though I noticed that there is no ad for Marshall Wells on the page. The house itself was designed by Mrs. Graban, and decorated by her and daughter Gertrude.
