This morning, SPRA staff found flooding throughout the archives’ reading room, staff offices, and staff kitchen/break room. Because the flooding has impacted our public space, we will be closed to in-person researchers until further notice so that we can safely accommodate clean-up professionals. We hope to reopen early in the new year.
Thankfully, archival records in the vault have not been impacted. The unprocessed records in our processing room are also safe and dry.
During this time, we will have less capacity to provide research support to long distance researchers and may not be able to complete new photograph reproduction requests.
