Front page news on August 11, 1938 was that by that evening Coke would be on sale in Grande Prairie. I liked the comment about the water used being as pure and clean as it was scientifically possible to make it – I think that having grown up with the “Northern Bottling Coke taste,” I felt that Coke from other places was not quite up to snuff. When the two liter bottles were introduced I tried it, but didn’t like it, and found out that it was being bottled in Edmonton. I still like Coke and there are certain meals or snacks that just have to be accompanied by a Coke.
