I chose Easter 1932 to look for articles just because it fell on the same day as this year. Celebrations centered around church activities, and music was a big part of the observance. The United Church Choir was performing the sacred cantata “Olivet to Calvary” on Good Friday, and also used some of the same music in their Easter Sunday program. St. Joseph’s Church choir presented a mass especially composed by Father Puchniak, dedicated to C. Spencer. The demanding musical presentations with chorus and orchestra had been going on in the area since the early days.
