Have you ever heard of a ‘radio dance”?
An article in the October 20, 1938 newspaper sent me looking back for more information about just what this was. The October 6, 1938 edition supplied the answer.
The idea was that CFGP radio Grande Prairie would play dance music on a chosen Friday night, and in the halls all around the area the broadcast would be played on the radio for a dance. Over 60 communities took part. Kind of a neat idea!
The dance was to benefit the Monkman Pass Highway Association, which provides the subject for a later blog post on what that was about.
