In the Sept. 16, 1914 newspaper, the Editor responds to “frequent and persistent enquiries from outside points…as to ways and means of reaching this country”. He mentions both the long trail through Athabasca Landing and Grouard, and of course, the Edson Trail, which he refers to as the short cut!
