Allan Herbert Lossing was born on September 23, 1921 and spent his childhood and school years on the family farm at Beaverlodge.
In 1941 he joined the Royal Canadian Army and went overseas. He returned home in 1945 and married Marie (Ducharme) Oakford in March of 1946. Marie’s daughter Carol soon became the apple of Allan’s eye. Allan and Marie had a son, Lane in 1948.
In 1955 they moved to Dawson Creek, B.C. and then on to Chetwynd where Allan worked in the lumber business in partnership with his father Clarence and brother Earl. After the business was sold, Allan worked for the B.C. Forest Service until he retired.
Allan became very active in the Chetwynd branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Allan Lossing passed away on July 16, 2003 in Parksville, B.C. and is interred at the Beaverlodge Cemetery.
