Leriger, Albert Lloyd

Albert Lloyd Leriger was born on the home quarter in Wanham, Ab. on August 1, 1918, where he continued to live until his passing in 2014.

Albert served his country in WWII, from 1939-45, as a Lancaster pilot with the RCAF.

Albert married Margaret (Terry) Healy in Leicester, England. They moved to Wanham where they raised their 3 boys, Paul, Spike and Peter.

Albert was an avid baseball player; community minded person; Mayor of the Village of Wanham for over 18 years; served on various agricultural boards; instrumental in founding the first Plowing Match Championship. He was honored with having the Wanham Community Sports Grounds named after him.

Albert passed away on November 9, 2014 and is interred at the Wanham Cemetery in Wanham, Ab.
