Administrative history / Biographical sketch
Jean Lowe spent much of her working life working for social change in areas of family and senior services, as well as mental health services.
Custodial History
The records were donated to the South Peace Regional Archives by Jean’s husband, Sam Lowe, in 2006.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of one family photograph and 7 scrapbooks containing clippings from local newspapers that dealt with mental health issues, drug rehabilitation, youth hostel, child care, and homemaker issues. Jean was a recipient of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Lady of the Year award in the 1975 when she worked for Preventive Social Services Department. Her duties there included administration of Family Life Education, Community Services, Homemaker Services, Volunteer Service Bureau Assistance and Information Directory, and Day Care Centers.
