James Felker grew up in Saskatchewan. During the Second World War he served in the Canadian Army. Obtaining land from the Lassiter Project in 1951, he homesteaded in the Tangent area (79-24-W5) with his family. He farmed and drove truck in the area until 1973, when he moved to Lumby BC to retire.
