Johnston, Edward Irvine

Edward was born in Lack, Northern Ireland on January 1, 1884. In 1900, at the age of 16, Edward joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers; he served in the Imperial Army for twenty-one years. Edward was taken prisoner by the Germans in 1916 and spent the rest of the war in prisoner of war camps. In 1922 he came to Canada, and ended up in the Peace Country in 1929. He filed on SE 18-79-10-W6 in 1930. Edward married Mrs. Emily Levitt, a widow from Elmworth, in May of 1936. Edward died on December 10, 1969.
