This item about the Buffalo Lakes Lumber Company caught my attention because of the large numbers of saw and shingle logs harvested that winter. It seems pretty impressive for 1914. I also noticed that the same man, J.A. Evans, was manager of the lumber company, as well as a hardware store in Lake Saskatoon. He was obviously a big believer in advertising and promotion. His businesses often had full page ads in the newspaper, and usually had a “deal” on the go, such as the chance to win a steel range and lumber.
